4 Core Challenges
Test your real core strength, not just your abs' looks
Why visible abs aren't the whole story
- Visible abs mainly reflect low body fat, not core strength
- You can have a strong core with no visible abs, and vice versa
- Core strength is trainable separately from how your abs look
- Real core strength shows up as stability under load, not just looks
4 challenges to try
- Hollow hold: lie on your back, shoulders and legs slightly lifted, hold 30 seconds
- Tuck L-sit: support on your hands, knees tucked, feet off the ground, hold 10 seconds
- Plank: forearms and toes, straight line head to heels, hold 60 seconds
- Side plank: forearm and feet stacked, hips lifted, hold 30 seconds each side
Scoring yourself
- Complete all 4 with good form? Track your hold times as you improve
- Struggling with one? That's the one to practice most this month
- Shaking or losing form before time's up counts as the end of your hold
- Retest every few weeks to track real progress
Good to know
- Quality over duration. A shaky 60-second plank with sagging hips teaches your body the wrong pattern.
